# Interval Timer vs IntervalFree

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: IntervalFree at none against Interval Timer's 4. Interval Timer's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (164 vs 23). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Interval Timer sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. IntervalFree asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Interval Timer against 4.8 for IntervalFree. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Interval Timer has 164 ratings behind it against 23, so its average is the more settled of the two.
