# UC Browser vs Proxy Browser

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Proxy Browser at none against UC Browser's 17. Proxy Browser also leads on update cadence (daily vs fortnightly) and iOS requirement (13.4 vs 15). UC Browser's advantage is ratings volume (4.9K vs 355) and chart position (#39 vs unranked). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. UC Browser sells 17 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Proxy Browser asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.4 for UC Browser against 4.3 for Proxy Browser. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: UC Browser has 4.9K ratings behind it against 355, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 73% of UC Browser's written reviews are positive against 75% of Proxy Browser's.

UC Browser ships an update fortnightly, Proxy Browser daily. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
