# 814 vs Chess ⁺

The clearest difference is update cadence: Chess ⁺ at every 2 months against 814's every 60 months. 814's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and review sentiment (100% vs 85%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 814 sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and Chess ⁺ sells 7 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

814 ships an update every 60 months, Chess ⁺ every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
