# BlackVue vs HyperX NGENUITY

The clearest difference is rating: BlackVue at 3.8 against HyperX NGENUITY's 1.3. BlackVue also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (2.8K vs 26). HyperX NGENUITY's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 12) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BlackVue sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. HyperX NGENUITY asks for nothing beyond the download.

BlackVue holds the better App Store score, 3.8 against 1.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BlackVue has 2.8K ratings behind it against 26, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 9% of BlackVue's written reviews are positive against 13% of HyperX NGENUITY's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

BlackVue ships an update every 3 weeks, HyperX NGENUITY every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
