# BlackVue vs Thanx

The clearest difference is rating: BlackVue at 3.8 against Thanx's 1.0. BlackVue also leads on ratings volume (2.9K vs 2) and chart position (#165 vs unranked). Thanx's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 9%) and in-app purchases (none vs 12). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BlackVue sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Thanx asks for nothing beyond the download.

BlackVue holds the better App Store score, 3.8 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BlackVue has 2.9K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 9% of BlackVue's written reviews are positive against 50% of Thanx's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
