# Weatherguard vs Crangle

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Crangle at 71% against Weatherguard's 9%. Crangle also leads on ratings volume (163 vs 1). Weatherguard's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and rating (5.0 vs 4.5). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Crangle sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Weatherguard asks for nothing beyond the download.

Weatherguard holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Crangle has 163 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 9% of Weatherguard's written reviews are positive against 71% of Crangle's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Weatherguard ships an update every 3 months, Crangle every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
