# UAV Forecast vs METAR

The clearest difference is rating: UAV Forecast at 4.6 against METAR's 3.7. UAV Forecast also leads on ratings volume (3.5K vs 23) and chart position (#25 vs unranked). METAR's advantage is review sentiment (57% vs 33%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. UAV Forecast sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and METAR sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

UAV Forecast holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: UAV Forecast has 3.5K ratings behind it against 23, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of UAV Forecast's written reviews are positive against 57% of METAR's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UAV Forecast ships an update every 5 days, METAR every 4 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
