# CMDR vs D4Tools

CMDR and D4Tools both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 79% of CMDR's written reviews are positive against 55% of D4Tools's. CMDR also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.6). D4Tools's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 4 weeks) and ratings volume (127 vs 16). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CMDR sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and D4Tools sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for CMDR against 4.6 for D4Tools. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: D4Tools has 127 ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 79% of CMDR's written reviews are positive against 55% of D4Tools's.

CMDR ships an update every 4 weeks, D4Tools weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
