# MantisX vs Par Timer Pro

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: MantisX at none against Par Timer Pro's 10. Par Timer Pro's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.3) and update cadence (weekly vs every 2 weeks). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Par Timer Pro sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. MantisX asks for nothing beyond the download.

Par Timer Pro holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 360 and 377 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 66% of MantisX's written reviews are positive against 59% of Par Timer Pro's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MantisX ships an update every 2 weeks, Par Timer Pro weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
