# MY API vs AQI

The clearest difference is rating: MY API at 5.0 against AQI's 3.4. MY API also leads on iOS requirement (9.0 vs 17.6). AQI's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 9 months). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MY API sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. AQI asks for nothing beyond the download.

MY API holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AQI has 16 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 17% of MY API's written reviews are positive against 42% of AQI's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MY API ships an update every 9 months, AQI every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
