# iMediaOut vs Backup Disk

The clearest difference is update cadence: Backup Disk at every 5 months against iMediaOut's every 10 months. iMediaOut's advantage is iOS requirement (9.0 vs 14.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. iMediaOut sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Backup Disk sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

iMediaOut ships an update every 10 months, Backup Disk every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
