# Animatic vs Avatar Animator

The clearest difference is rating: Animatic at 4.6 against Avatar Animator's 3.9. Animatic also leads on ratings volume (836 vs 22). Avatar Animator's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ads (none vs shown). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Animatic sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Avatar Animator sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Animatic holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Animatic has 836 ratings behind it against 22, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of Animatic's written reviews are positive against 71% of Avatar Animator's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Animatic ships an update every 4 months, Avatar Animator every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
