# Animatic vs Resolution Changer

The clearest difference is monetization model: Resolution Changer at free with in-app purchases against Animatic's subscription. Resolution Changer also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 63%) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 4 months). Animatic's advantage is ratings volume (836 vs 10). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Animatic sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Resolution Changer sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Resolution Changer holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Animatic has 836 ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 63% of Animatic's written reviews are positive against 100% of Resolution Changer's.

Animatic ships an update every 4 months, Resolution Changer fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
