# Animatic vs Pilo Sketch

The clearest difference is monetization model: Pilo Sketch at free with in-app purchases against Animatic's subscription. Pilo Sketch also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 63%) and ads (none vs shown). Animatic's advantage is ratings volume (836 vs 2). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Animatic sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Pilo Sketch sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Pilo Sketch holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Animatic has 836 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 63% of Animatic's written reviews are positive against 100% of Pilo Sketch's.

Animatic ships an update every 4 months, Pilo Sketch every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
