# Brave Browser & Search Engine vs Pure Web Browser

The clearest difference is rating: Brave Browser & Search Engine at 4.8 against Pure Web Browser's 4.3. Brave Browser & Search Engine also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 3 months). Pure Web Browser's advantage is iOS requirement (9.3 vs 18.0). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Brave Browser & Search Engine sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Pure Web Browser sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Brave Browser & Search Engine holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Brave Browser & Search Engine has 667K ratings behind it against 62, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 73% of Brave Browser & Search Engine's written reviews are positive against 76% of Pure Web Browser's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Brave Browser & Search Engine ships an update every 2 weeks, Pure Web Browser every 3 months. Both last shipped on October 21, 2026.
