# Namely vs Gong.io

The clearest difference is rating: Namely at 4.7 against Gong.io's 3.9. Namely also leads on monetization model (free vs freemium) and ratings volume (2.6K vs 113). Gong.io's advantage is review sentiment (60% vs 43%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Namely holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Namely has 2.6K ratings behind it against 113, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 43% of Namely's written reviews are positive against 60% of Gong.io's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Namely ships an update every 3 weeks, Gong.io every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
