# Namely vs JumpCloud Protect

The clearest difference is rating: Namely at 4.7 against JumpCloud Protect's 4.3. Namely also leads on ratings volume (2.6K vs 32) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 17.6). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Namely holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Namely has 2.6K ratings behind it against 32, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 43% of Namely's written reviews are positive against 44% of JumpCloud Protect's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Namely ships an update every 3 weeks, JumpCloud Protect every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
