# BU vs MuseMemo

The clearest difference is price: BU at Free against MuseMemo's $9.99. BU also leads on rating (3.8 vs 1.0) and ratings volume (6 vs 1). MuseMemo's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and update cadence (every 3 days vs monthly). On ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

BU is free to download; MuseMemo costs $9.99 up front. BU sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. MuseMemo asks for nothing beyond the download.

BU holds the better App Store score, 3.8 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BU has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

BU ships an update monthly, MuseMemo every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
