# Randolph EMC vs BarnTalk

The clearest difference is rating: BarnTalk at 4.1 against Randolph EMC's 3.3. BarnTalk also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (63 vs 3). Randolph EMC's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 78%) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

BarnTalk holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BarnTalk has 63 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Randolph EMC's written reviews are positive against 78% of BarnTalk's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Randolph EMC ships an update every 6 months, BarnTalk every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
