# Formula E vs Lights Out

The clearest difference is price: Formula E at Free against Lights Out's $0.99. Formula E also leads on ratings volume (1K vs 2) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 26.0). Lights Out's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.2) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 3 weeks). On review sentiment, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Formula E is free to download; Lights Out costs $0.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Lights Out holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Formula E has 1K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 23% and 23% positive.

Formula E ships an update every 3 weeks, Lights Out every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
