# El Trivia vs Word Ladder

The clearest difference is review sentiment: El Trivia at 81% against Word Ladder's 43%. El Trivia also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 8) and ads (none vs shown). Word Ladder's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 4.1) and update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Word Ladder sells 8 one-off in-app purchases. El Trivia asks for nothing beyond the download.

Word Ladder holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Word Ladder has 120 ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of El Trivia's written reviews are positive against 43% of Word Ladder's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

El Trivia ships an update every 2 months, Word Ladder monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
