The clearest difference is in-app purchases: ShieldGPS at none against LoJack's 1. ShieldGPS also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). LoJack's advantage is ratings volume (94K vs 17). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. LoJack sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $129.99 per year. ShieldGPS asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for LoJack against 4.9 for ShieldGPS. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LoJack has 94K ratings behind it against 17, so its average is the more settled of the two.
