# UniFi vs Tails VIP

The clearest difference is review sentiment: UniFi at 47% against Tails VIP's 0%. UniFi also leads on ratings volume (25K vs 2) and chart position (#198 vs unranked). Tails VIP's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 18.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Tails VIP holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: UniFi has 25K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 47% of UniFi's written reviews are positive against 0% of Tails VIP's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UniFi ships an update fortnightly, Tails VIP weekly. Both last shipped on November 8, 2026.
