# VRPlayer vs TDPT

The clearest difference is rating: TDPT at 2.8 against VRPlayer's 2.0. TDPT also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (292 vs 1). VRPlayer's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 4 months). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TDPT sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. VRPlayer asks for nothing beyond the download.

TDPT holds the better App Store score, 2.8 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TDPT has 292 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 48% of VRPlayer's written reviews are positive against 29% of TDPT's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

VRPlayer ships an update every 3 weeks, TDPT every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
