# Securus Mobile vs Neon

The clearest difference is rating: Securus Mobile at 4.6 against Neon's 4.1. Securus Mobile also leads on chart position (#46 vs unranked) and ratings volume (64K vs 9.1K). Neon's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 6 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Securus Mobile holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Securus Mobile has 64K ratings behind it against 9.1K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 13% of Securus Mobile's written reviews are positive against 27% of Neon's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Securus Mobile ships an update every 6 weeks, Neon every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 27, 2026.
