# Rain Bird vs BHP Smart Lock

The clearest difference is rating: Rain Bird at 4.7 against BHP Smart Lock's 4.0. Rain Bird also leads on ratings volume (70K vs 3). BHP Smart Lock's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months) and review sentiment (50% vs 31%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Rain Bird holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Rain Bird has 70K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 31% of Rain Bird's written reviews are positive against 50% of BHP Smart Lock's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Rain Bird ships an update every 2 months, BHP Smart Lock weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
