# Rain Bird vs Porch

The clearest difference is rating: Rain Bird at 4.7 against Porch's 3.9. Rain Bird also leads on ratings volume (79K vs 142) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.4). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Rain Bird holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Rain Bird has 79K ratings behind it against 142, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 31% of Rain Bird's written reviews are positive against 35% of Porch's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Rain Bird ships an update every 2 months, Porch monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
