# Time Crimes vs Criminal Case

The clearest difference is rating: Time Crimes at 4.1 against Criminal Case's 3.3. Time Crimes also leads on ratings volume (436 vs 3). Criminal Case's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 12) and ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Time Crimes sells 12 one-off in-app purchases. Criminal Case asks for nothing beyond the download.

Time Crimes holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Time Crimes has 436 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of Time Crimes's written reviews are positive against 100% of Criminal Case's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Time Crimes ships an update every 3 weeks, Criminal Case every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
