# Magic Book vs Widgepets

The clearest difference is ads: Magic Book at none against Widgepets's shown. Magic Book also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 17.0). Widgepets's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs monthly). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Magic Book sells 7 one-off in-app purchases and Widgepets sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Magic Book ships an update monthly, Widgepets weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
