# REDVPN vs Nostalgic VPN

The clearest difference is rating: Nostalgic VPN at 4.0 against REDVPN's 3.3. REDVPN's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (10 vs 1). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. REDVPN sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Nostalgic VPN sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Nostalgic VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: REDVPN has 10 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

REDVPN ships an update every 5 weeks, Nostalgic VPN every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
