# OpticsPlanet.com vs Googan Squad

The clearest difference is ads: OpticsPlanet.com at none against Googan Squad's shown. OpticsPlanet.com also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and ratings volume (15K vs 2.8K). Googan Squad's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 5 weeks). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for OpticsPlanet.com against 4.9 for Googan Squad. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: OpticsPlanet.com has 15K ratings behind it against 2.8K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 92% and 92% positive.

OpticsPlanet.com ships an update every 5 weeks, Googan Squad every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 15, 2026.
