# OpticsPlanet.com vs The Bearded Chap

The clearest difference is ads: OpticsPlanet.com at none against The Bearded Chap's shown. OpticsPlanet.com also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and ratings volume (15K vs 2). The Bearded Chap's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 92%). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for OpticsPlanet.com against 5.0 for The Bearded Chap. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: OpticsPlanet.com has 15K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.
