# OpticsPlanet.com vs LXM

The clearest difference is ratings volume: OpticsPlanet.com at 15K against LXM's 2. LXM's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 5 weeks) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for OpticsPlanet.com against 5.0 for LXM. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: OpticsPlanet.com has 15K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

OpticsPlanet.com ships an update every 5 weeks, LXM weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
