# OBD Pro vs OBD Mate

The clearest difference is ratings volume: OBD Mate at 115 against OBD Pro's 1. OBD Mate also leads on review sentiment (9% vs 0%). OBD Pro's advantage is iOS requirement (7.0 vs 13.0). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

OBD Pro holds the better App Store score, 2.0 against 1.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: OBD Mate has 115 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of OBD Pro's written reviews are positive against 9% of OBD Mate's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

OBD Pro ships an update monthly, OBD Mate every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 27, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
