# Heart Rate PRO vs Pilot

The clearest difference is price: Pilot at Free against Heart Rate PRO's $2.99. Pilot also leads on review sentiment (33% vs 10%). Heart Rate PRO's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 31 months). On rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Pilot is free to download; Heart Rate PRO costs $2.99 up front. Pilot sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per year. Heart Rate PRO asks for nothing beyond the download.

Heart Rate PRO holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Heart Rate PRO has 758 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 10% of Heart Rate PRO's written reviews are positive against 33% of Pilot's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Heart Rate PRO ships an update every 6 weeks, Pilot every 31 months. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
