# mSecure vs Password Manager & Generator

The clearest difference is monetization model: mSecure at freemium against Password Manager & Generator's subscription. mSecure also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.5) and ratings volume (51K vs 1.4K). Password Manager & Generator's advantage is review sentiment (82% vs 62%) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. mSecure sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month and Password Manager & Generator sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

mSecure holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: mSecure has 51K ratings behind it against 1.4K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 62% of mSecure's written reviews are positive against 82% of Password Manager & Generator's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

mSecure ships an update every 2 months, Password Manager & Generator fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
