# Fawesome vs scanAR

The clearest difference is review sentiment: scanAR at 100% against Fawesome's 43%. scanAR also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Fawesome's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (11K vs 1). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

scanAR holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fawesome has 11K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 43% of Fawesome's written reviews are positive against 100% of scanAR's.

Fawesome ships an update weekly, scanAR every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
