# Fawesome vs SpotLight Theater

The clearest difference is review sentiment: SpotLight Theater at 100% against Fawesome's 43%. SpotLight Theater also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Fawesome's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.0) and update cadence (weekly vs every 22 months). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Fawesome holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fawesome has 11K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 43% of Fawesome's written reviews are positive against 100% of SpotLight Theater's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Fawesome ships an update weekly, SpotLight Theater every 22 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
