# Stepik vs Кодик

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Кодик at none against Stepik's 10. Кодик also leads on review sentiment (92% vs 69%). Stepik's advantage is ratings volume (890 vs 12) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Stepik sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Кодик asks for nothing beyond the download.

Stepik holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Stepik has 890 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 69% of Stepik's written reviews are positive against 92% of Кодик's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Stepik ships an update weekly, Кодик every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
