# Trace Me Smart ID vs Viya

The clearest difference is rating: Viya at 4.6 against Trace Me Smart ID's 1.0. Viya also leads on ratings volume (354 vs 1) and update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 6 months). Trace Me Smart ID's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Viya holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Viya has 354 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of Trace Me Smart ID's written reviews are positive against 30% of Viya's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Trace Me Smart ID ships an update every 6 months, Viya every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
