# Footpatrol vs THOREN

The clearest difference is rating: THOREN at 5.0 against Footpatrol's 4.2. THOREN also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Footpatrol's advantage is ratings volume (480 vs 1) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 6 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

THOREN holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Footpatrol has 480 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Footpatrol ships an update every 3 weeks, THOREN every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
