# Next Gear vs Xcelerate Restoration Software

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Next Gear at 361 against Xcelerate Restoration Software's 46. On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Xcelerate Restoration Software holds the better App Store score, 2.9 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Next Gear has 361 ratings behind it against 46, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 43% of Next Gear's written reviews are positive against 42% of Xcelerate Restoration Software's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
