# Next Gear vs ClockShark Time Tracking

The clearest difference is monetization model: Next Gear at free against ClockShark Time Tracking's free with in-app purchases. Next Gear also leads on review sentiment (43% vs 30%) and ratings volume (367 vs 89). ClockShark Time Tracking's advantage is rating (2.9 vs 2.6). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

ClockShark Time Tracking holds the better App Store score, 2.9 against 2.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 367 and 89 respectively.
