# Skyeng vs Study America

Skyeng and Study America both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Study America's written reviews are positive against 46% of Skyeng's. Study America also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 6) and iOS requirement (13.4 vs 16.4). Skyeng's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (2K vs 6). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Skyeng sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Study America asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Skyeng against 4.8 for Study America. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Skyeng has 2K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 46% of Skyeng's written reviews are positive against 100% of Study America's.

Skyeng ships an update fortnightly, Study America every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
