# BimmerLink vs Americaloc Viewer

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Americaloc Viewer at none against BimmerLink's 2. Americaloc Viewer also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). BimmerLink's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.2) and ratings volume (9.5K vs 13). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BimmerLink sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Americaloc Viewer asks for nothing beyond the download.

BimmerLink holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BimmerLink has 9.5K ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 54% of BimmerLink's written reviews are positive against 60% of Americaloc Viewer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

BimmerLink ships an update every 4 weeks, Americaloc Viewer every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
