# XPlayer vs Re

The clearest difference is update cadence: Re at every 3 weeks against XPlayer's every 3 months. XPlayer's advantage is iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. XPlayer sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Re sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

XPlayer ships an update every 3 months, Re every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
