# Selfie Stick vs Parallel Camera

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Selfie Stick at 71% against Parallel Camera's 33%. Selfie Stick also leads on ads (none vs shown) and device support (4 vs 2). Parallel Camera's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 9 months) and rating (4.0 vs 3.7). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Selfie Stick sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Parallel Camera sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Parallel Camera holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 3 and 7 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of Selfie Stick's written reviews are positive against 33% of Parallel Camera's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Selfie Stick ships an update every 9 months, Parallel Camera fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
