# Alarm & Timer vs Flip clock

The clearest difference is monetization model: Alarm & Timer at free with in-app purchases against Flip clock's subscription. Flip clock's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.5 vs 4.3). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Alarm & Timer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Flip clock sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.49 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Flip clock holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2.2K and 4.9K respectively. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 59% and 59% positive.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
