# Alarm & Timer vs Simplio Meal Reminder

The clearest difference is rating: Alarm & Timer at 4.3 against Simplio Meal Reminder's 2.3. Alarm & Timer also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (2.2K vs 3). Simplio Meal Reminder's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 59%) and ads (none vs shown). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Alarm & Timer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Simplio Meal Reminder sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Alarm & Timer holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Alarm & Timer has 2.2K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 59% of Alarm & Timer's written reviews are positive against 100% of Simplio Meal Reminder's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Alarm & Timer ships an update every 3 weeks, Simplio Meal Reminder every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
