# Read Scripture vs Spines & Spins

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Read Scripture at none against Spines & Spins's 3. Read Scripture also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (1.8K vs 1). Spines & Spins's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 5 weeks). On price, rating, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Spines & Spins sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Read Scripture asks for nothing beyond the download.

Spines & Spins holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Read Scripture has 1.8K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Read Scripture ships an update every 5 weeks, Spines & Spins weekly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
